The Structural Management® Program encourages a proactive approach. In addition to normal wear and tear (caused by degeneration or osteoarthritis), we also run the risk of getting hurt or having old injuries manifest. We must work every day to preserve our musculoskeletal system and seek treatments and rehabilitation that address both prevention and treatment of non-surgical issues.

  • Traditional sports medicine “REACTS” to injuries.
    • There is no participation with a healthcare provider until an athlete becomes injured.

  • Virtually all injury prevention/treatment decisions are governed by insurance coverage.
    • The needs of an athlete are far different than the coverage provided for the masses.

  • Treatment, which is “allowed” by your insurance policy, is thoroughly inadequate and ignorant of long term needs.
    • The insurance industry is a business, and doesn’t care about the future injuries or performance of athletes.

  • Testing and Treatment “allowed” by your insurance policy is reducing every year, while the consumer’s costs (co-pays, deductibles and premiums) are going up.

  • Biomechanics does not exist in our traditional sports medicine system, yet….
    • 99% of all sports injuries are biomechanical in nature.
    • Very few “sports medicine doctors.” have any knowledge of biomechanics.
    • Recommendations are made by doctors. with limited knowledge of the complexity of the injury.
    • Inappropriate recommendations are often made as the doctor is unaware of the biomechanical findings that are present.

  • There is a de-emphasis of x-rays today as our traditional system only uses x-rays to detect pathology (disease) and fractures.  Doctors are not trained in the use of x-rays for the detection of biomechanical information, despite the fact that x-rays are the number one tool in performing a biomechanical exam.  There is a wealth of information available, yet most doctors will take x-rays in the laying down position, removing the effect of gravity and eliminating the most critical information an athlete could hope for………the predictability of future injuries.

The Structural Management® Program is the preferred program for:

  • Athletes who want to understand their current and unique biomechanics
  • Athletes with acute injuries
  • Athletes with long term, chronic injuries

The Structural Fingerprint® Exam identifies biomechanical faults, which are the precursors to almost all sports injuries.  There is a predictability factor, even with those who have never been injured, as everyone has biomechanical imbalances.  Unless an athlete goes through a biomechanical evaluation, they will never fully understand the underlying mechanical status, and therefore, will always be uninformed with regard to their needed strategy to reduce injuries, delay degeneration and preserve their human structure.
